Motorcycling is a visceral experience that once you start riding, becomes a defining part of your individuality. You don’t just go from A to B, you experience every sight, sound and weather system along the way. Part of that experience is feeling your motorcycle and being in tune with it, both for safety and for surety. One of the joys of motorcycling is being able to modify and maintain your machine yourself, as an expression of your individuality making your bike truly yours and knowing it inside and out.
Lack of Space, Tools & Good Old Fashioned Know How
The challenge is, being an inner city dweller, real estate is expensive and it is a luxury to have access to garage, let alone one big enough to be able to work on a bike in. But that is just the first challenge, if you are lucky to have the space, then you need the right tools to get the job done and do it safely, and this is expensive. A basic set up will cost at least $1500. And if you have all that (which is awesome!) it can also get a bit lonely wrenching by yourself. If only there was a place that had all the tools, the space, a community of riders and wrenches that was affordable in the inner west? (Hint. There is).
Skills Amnesia Has A Cure
Over the last few generations, garages have become smaller, tool boxes have either shrunk or completely disappeared from the modern household and now people don’t know the basics of using hand tools to do simple tasks. Skills amnesia is real. These skills apply not only to motorcycle maintenance, but many tasks around the home and various situations can benefit from being able to turn a spanner and use a drill.
Financial Cents & Cost Effective
COVID has had an impact on most households back pocket, and people are looking for creative ways to save money. Being able to maintain your motorcycle yourself is a great way to either reduce the cost of visiting a mechanic or completely remove it all together. The typical inner city mechanic charges approximately $120 an hour plus parts. A full service (brakes, oil, fluids, chain) will cost anywhere from $400 - $600 plus parts. Working on your own bike not only can save money, but is also a great past time and hobby, as you are learning, improving your skills and doing something you enjoy in a social setting.

how it works:
Pick your membership, join, book and complete your safety induction, book a bay, and get wrenching!
Book Your Bay Time
Book Your Induction
Inductions are compulsory, we take you through the workshop, tools and how to use them safely. Please book in your induction on a SATURDAY morning at 10am. We have set times for our inductions to minimise disruption to our members seeking "Assisted" bay time. If those times are not suitable, give us a call and we will do our best to accomodate you outside of those hours.
There are 4 bays that are available to book using our online booking system. In our experience, everything takes longer than you think! The time you book includes setting up and also packing down and cleaning up, so factor this in as well. Remember there maybe someone booked in after you so keep an eye on the clock and bookings. If no one is booked after you you can keep going.
